The program was introduced by Archbishop Murphy Pakiam after experiencing a Weekend in the United States. The first Weekend was held at Stella Maris, Jalan Hashim, Penang in 1985 with Archbishop Murphy, Thomas & Rita Samy, Eustace & Connie Boudville and Andrew & Pauleen Choo presenting.

To accommodate the large number of participants, the Weekends were moved to the Brothers Novitiate at Kelawei Road for one year. We then had to find another venue as the place was being rented out.

For the next three years, the program was held at the Townhouse Hotel in Penang Road. We then moved to Wisma Katolik, Macalister Road. When the College General was available, the programs were held there.
